OK. February did not go so well. Between issues with my toe, my back and my schedule I cannot claim any real progress made toward my stated goal. However, my eating has, for the most part, stayed consistent- save for some cheat days here and there. So I’m happy about that and about remaining steadfast. Looking forward to making March work out better. The toe is feeling better. My back is feeling somewhat better, but not 100%. My chiropractor has given me some exercises to do specifically to strengthen my back. So I’m going to at least start from there. Giving some thought today about what I’m going to do for my March habit. Whether I re-intend my February one, or start fresh with something new. More later.

Ok……So Saturday found me at a noon time baby shower and a dinner banquet. While I wasn’t perfect I must say I did have great restraint…..No potatoes…….cake……..or……..mouth watering creamed corn (one of my favorites) and NO BREAD!
……..I did have baked chicken (even tho they had fried) green beans, carrots, and a tiny bite of yellow rice. Boy was I a good girl….Good thing too this morning I find my hands puffy. I guess from all of the salt added to the banquet food. So lots of water today to flush.I have to say it is easy to follow the weight poss program from . It is so easy to have a visual of a proper plate and portions with Dr. Layman’s great guidance. His science is incredible and so easy to follow. Just listen to what he has to say:Dr. Donald Layman on weight loss and diets…..it will change the way you look at dieting for ever……

After my last post, one of my friends from the TT forum, Dan, wrote a nice comment about how well I was doing and to keep up the good work. Oh dear. Two weeks later I would like to post this apology to Dan, any other readers out there, and most of all, to myself, for letting it all slide again.
It’s been 13 days since my last workout, and my eating has been mixed at best. Not too bad at meals, but lots of chocolate and biscuits for snacks. My weight is fluttering around the 200lb mark, and my body fat is up in the 44s again. Time to turn it around. Again. I’ve been at this level for around 6 months now and I’m fed up. I want to move on.
I hereby pledge to consistently exercise and eat well for 10 pounds. No easing up, no excuses, till I hit that 190 mark. Then maybe a week off. We’ll see. If I don’t post for a few days, it usually means I am not in my healthy groove and please feel free to comment/write/come round here and kick my lazy ass!

Well, if I am going to talk about how successful I am all the time, then I also have to talk about my unsuccessful times, so here it goes.
Last night I broke down and ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and sausage. I wasn’t hungry, I was bored. I had a little too much to drink, and my guard was completely down. I didn’t even think twice about it. I was already online, so I just opened another tab in my browser and went to PapaJohns.com and placed an order without hesitation. Of course, now I feel horrible the next morning. Drank too much, ate too much. And the worst part is, I went directly to bed after I ate. My one saving grace is that I didn’t eat the entire pizza, there was a time when I would have done that, no matter how stuffed I felt. I did have 5 out of 8 slices though, that’s a lot of calories to pack in right before going to bed. But you know what, I’m not going to beat myself up about it. I’m going to move on. Time spent dwelling on the past is time wasted. The true lesson here is, less drinking. It really makes me drop my guard.

A study published in the International Journal of Obesity, found that obese adults who ate 3 servings of yogurt a day as part of a reduced-calorie diet lost 22% more weight, and 61% more body fat than a control group consuming the same number of calories with little or no dairy products. The yogurt group also experienced 81% more fat loss in the stomach area than non-yogurt eaters. One final key point, the yogurt group was twice as effective at maintaining lean muscle mass. This has vital implications as losing muscle mass lowers your basal metabolic rate, burning fewer calories daily.
