Alright . . . some good friends of ours gave me a bag of popcorn kernels . . . is that what you call them before they're popped? How old am I? Why don't I know the answer to that?
Anyway . . . I have never popped popcorn outside of a prepackaged microwavable bag . . . careful opening it, its hot!
Ok, so I had a bit of the munchies (no I don't smoke pot) yesterday and decided that that would be a healthier munchy than, say, cookies or candy . . . the two that were also on the mind's list of yummy edibles.
If you weren't aware I'm working on losing the next 20 lbs of flab that has stuck itself to my ribs (thighs, arms, fingers, butt, etc) and so healthy was gnawing at the back of my mind.
I read the directions (crazy!!) and decided it sounded easy peasy. And it was easy peasy! And oh so good!!
If you choose to follow my diet ideas . . . be aware that tiny 1/3 cup of kernels pops a gigantic bowl of popcorn . . . the popcorn you then must drizzle with olive oil and salt it until tastes as though it came from the sea.
Yes, my friends . . . not so healthy after I mutilated it. And I had one bowl (or barrel, whatever) . . . I did share with my boys, but how much can a 3 year old and 1 1/2 year old actually eat?
Then hubby came home and we were hanging out after the chitlins had drifted to sleep and I was going on and on about how good the "real" popcorn turned out, compared to crappy microwave popcorn. I went on so much that he asked me to make some, that it sounded good.
Um . . . so I did. And then I proceeded to eat over half the bowl (barrel) of popcorn cuz apparently he wasn't as impressed or something.
So, diet didn't go so well yesterday. :(
But, on a brighter note . . . I have started jogging outdoors in the wee morning hours, before the house wakes to the chaotic. I have found such solace in my time out . . . I take my crazy Jack, Byron, and we hit the pavement. I'm able to get home, take a shower, get dressed (for the day!!) and have breakfast on its way before the boys start screeching and talking from their cribs.
Mind you, its been COLD here . . . in the 35 or so when I start up at 6:45am . . . but I warm quickly the jostling of jogging and its been tolerable . . . though I've decided I still hate the rain.
So, one of my friends, K, and I are planning on a 5k in the fall . . small goal but not so small at the same time. Maybe I'll actually be in shape for it. weird
Ok, I'm going now. Hubby is back to school and shift today . . . so I'm on my own . . . though I was pretty much ready for a day to myself, so thats cool . . . ask me in a week . . . I'll be ready for him to be on break again. :)
God Bless!!
Upclose Byron . . . my crazy and obnoxious Jack Russell

Lately I have been talking up the fact that I am back in the and that I can probably out lift all of the guys in the student ministry. I enjoy comparing the size of my forearm to the biceps of the guys in our ministry. For me it has been a lot of fun shedding some extra lbs (I have a long way to go) and it has also been fun showing off my bigger arms.
I want to make sure everyone understands my motivation for getting back in the gym. No it was not just to bench more than the guys in the Student Ministry. For the past year I felt that I really was not living out my mission statement. I want to love God with my EVERYTHING! As I was adding weight and getting fatter, I was also getting lazier. I didn't feel like I was loving God with all that I am because I was not healthy.
Now that I am hitting up the new my energy level has increased and I feel that I can be more productive for MY GOD. Being in the gym has also given me another opportunity to make some friends outside of the Church.
THE reason I am hitting up the gym is for God's Glory. I desire to love Him with my everything.

These pills are much more effective than the herbal pills. The active ingredients they contain are much stronger. Another great thing with these pills are that they have been thoroughly tested, so that you’ll always know what to expect if you take them.
Be aware though, you have no guarantee that they will make you lose weight. All diet pills need to be taken together with an appropriate weight loss diet as well as an exercise plan. Normally these diet pills are prescribed only to obese people, with a BMI of 27 or more. If you only need to lose a few pounds, they are not for you.
The easiest way to . You can either have them delivered at your door or pick them up at your local pharmacy. It’s a fast and simple process which more and more people prefer for their pharmacy purchases.

Quick Weight Loss Tips By Ryan Bushfield CPT
A simple foundation that can be relied upon is to ingest fewer foods that have a high calorie count such as foods that contain processed flour and sugar. You then replace the high calorie foods with foods that have fewer calories. This can be accomplished by eating healthy sources of protein, whole grains and of course fresh vegetables and fruits.
There are many tips that are available to those looking for some quick weight loss tricks. Fad diets are out there and can be used as can diet pills. But they each have their potential dangers. Diet pills are highly addictive and not the healthiest thing to put into your body. Fad diets are all too often the medical miracle of the moment. These moments can turn out to be things that cause poor health.
1. Eat four to five times a day. You accomplish two things by eating this often. As you digest your food your metabolism rate will be increased by the activity, thus burning more calories. In addition to that you will find that you won't be as hungry each time that you eat.
2. Reduce the size of the portions. By measuring your healthy portions of proteins, vegetables and fruits you will reduce the carbohydrates and maintain the proper level of calories needed daily.
3. Prepare the menu for the week ahead. This enables you to do your shopping for the healthiest foods without being rushed.
4. Broil and grill your meats when possible. Prior to broiling or grilling the meat, make certain to trim off excess fat and remove the skin where possible. Enhance the flavor of meats using your favorite natural spices.
5. Enhance your diet plan by eating organic foods when possible. Foods such as raw honey, wild smoked salmon, tomatoes, rye bread and there are even organic red meats, pork and chicken.
6. Drink bottled water or filtered water. This will keep your body hydrated and cleansed. For the best effect with the diet it is suggested drinking 64 oz. per day.
7. The Dreaded Tip: Exercise. A mild exercise such as walking at least 30 minutes a day will increase the metabolic rate of your body.
8. Avoid eating after six o'clock p.m. If you must eat or snack after 6 p.m. do so with low-carb foods, such as yogurt, organic fruits and veggies.
9. Eat foods with high unsaturated fats, such as olive oil, nuts and fish. These foods are a natural barrier to diseases that can attack your body.
10. Positive attitude. This tip perhaps may be the most important tip of all. Believe in your ability to follow a plan and to lose weight.
By implementing these tips you will have more success with your long term weight loss when using your low-carb diet plan. There are no magic answers to slimming down. Common sense, eating carefully and getting regular exercise are the real keys to keeping fit. But if you want to develop your own quick weight loss program the above tips will be a good start.

Up 1 lb today. Exactly. I'm still optimistic. It's Ok.
My net loss for the month of March? Well, it was a NET GAIN of 6.6 pounds. Terrible results. I'm gonna kill it in April though. Yeah! Pound it! Yeah! Motivated! Yeah! Spring is coming. Have some major events coming up and I want to look decent. Yeah! Go kill it now! YYYYEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this was my first net "UP" month ever. Usually, I can pull it out of my ass (literally & figuratively) and show a loss for the month. Not this time. Gotta stay positive. If I analyze the data, I find that the gain "could" have been as hight as 12 pound. I contained the damage and "only" gained 6.6 pounds. Containment. I like that word. Tomorrow is a new month. A new beginning. Start anew. Spring. Everything is new and fresh. Good, positive attitude. I really, really do feel good.

Tonight is the night!
I'm a little worried at how nervous I am about starting back at the gym later today. It's been a month but lifting is just like riding a bicycle, right?
My right ankle has been bothering me for a few days and squats are on deck tonight. This should be interesting. I'll probably start off with lower weights and slowly build up. I have a tendency to go a little too high and sacrifice form in the name of progress. I hope I can control that urge today and make some actual progress.
That's my goal anyway. To do every rep right. My ego be damned.

Pete and I decided that the kids should go on holiday from today. We have been working very hard in homeschool and the kids are still a bit sad that their best friends emmigrated to Dubai 10 days ago. So we thought a 2 week break would be in order. It's so sad to see our friends leave the country, one after the other. Anyway, we just have to carry on.
So this morning we went to buy some cap guns and caps for the boys, but first we went to Wimpy for some breakfast, Pete has this idea that Wimpy food is holiday food. Not one to complain, I thought, yeah, why not? So now we have cap gun noises every 5 seconds, and boys running around making more noise. Wonder how long it carry on for?
On the in-law front, we will be having tea with Mil and Fil sometime this week, so looking forward not really looking forward to that. I just hope we can have some sort of civilised relationship with them. But only time will tell.
Ahhh, the soothing sounds of cap gun explosions!! Can't really think straight with that noise. Wtf was I thinking???????
Aaaanyway, will just try to tune out the noise, I gotta find a chocolate ganache recipe for my mom, so I need to beg this bloody internet connection to keep me on the net long enough to download some recipes. Boy that's gonna be fun.
I was also supposed to get back to my diet today, my sister has started her diet, and I wanted to start with her, but Wimpy food beckoned. Yeah I know, excuses excuses. I will just have a salad for lunch and see how it goes the rest of the day. There's just so many yummy restaurants and recipes out there, and tomorrow I'm meeting a friend for brunch. Obviously not diet brunch, if there is such a thing.
