Indigo Relationships

Excerpt from www.firstwaveindigos.com:
By ~Lady Mistycah~

Have you been feeling extremely lonely and empty to the core lately.....to the brink of tears or apathy? Have you had old fears you thought were dead and buried come back to haunt you and run-a-muck to the point of obsession? Have you had bad dreams that tie you to "old romances or relationships" and "stuff" that you thought had been previously handled? Do you feel that if you don't have a "quality relationship" in your life, you might as well be dead because that emptiness makes you feel dead inside already? Do you find yourself standing in front of the open refrigerator looking for something that "Looks Good" but nothing seems to "hit the spot" when you eat it?

These are symptoms that many, many First Wave Indigos are having and it seems to have been amped up lately. This feeling of sadness and desperation to find a "Soul Mate" is almost getting out of control and you need to know that others are feeling it too.....it is NOT just YOU!

Statistically, the majority of First Wave Indigos are currently "single." Out of the ones that are married or in a relationship, only about 6% are in happy, stable, and supportive partnerships. The others are in hideous relationships with spider/snake/cat ladies or male tyrants that are making their life a living Hell and they wish they were single and free! This is NOT the way it should be and .....if we have anything to do about it.....it is not the way it WILL BE in the near future.

Since UV-Realm Indigos are "wired differently" ...it is very important for you to understand that intimate relationships can only be truly fulfilling if you are with another Indigo, and also one that that is on the same "wavelength" that you are. If you aren't, and if you "sell out" and get together intimately with an "Earth Person" or someone who is convenient just to stop the loneliness.....this can be very destructive to both parties.

First of all you will NOT get what you need out of the interaction and chances are you will be the unlucky recipient of some kind of Kundalini dumping.....a process that happens when someone knowingly or unintentionally, dumps their psychic debris/poisons/fears and stresses on their partner during intimacy. This can take hours, days, weeks or even months & years to clear, especially if you don't have a clue what happened and how to fix it.

What Indigos are REALLY looking for is mutual respect/honor and energetic exchange that comes through high level Tantra, the art of conscious loving. Through Tantra you and your partner can move to elevated states of awareness/consciousness and truly "know thyself" in ways that nothing else can touch. It is one of the hidden keys in my book "Kryahgenetics, the Simple Secrets of Human Alchemy." Tantra is truly the bridge to higher consciousness, and that is precisely why organized religion has tried to make all sorts of rules and taboos to regulate it. They have deliberately created so much guilt and lies about sexuality to guarantee that you will not be free to explore and express your True Nature, the authentic God or Goddess within!

If you never know the God/Goddess with in, you will always be looking on the outside of yourself to find "God." This way, "they" have control because you believe they have the roadmap and an "In" with God. They set themselves up as a mediator to Source...and you would NEVER want to cut off your link to "Source" .....Therefore, they "OWN YOU!"

First Wave Indigos, in their heart of hearts, know this to be true, and long for a "soul mate" ...one they love and trust to explore "the God/Goddess within" and become "one" with their partner. Magick happens when two people become one .....one heart....one soul...and if you know how to command and conduct orgone energy, (the power of the Orgasm.....the power of life itself) you can change your reality and the matrix of the entire hologram! Orgone energy laced with Divine Love is THE MOST POWERFUL ENERGY/FORCE IN THE UNIVERSE! It is the power to create ANYTHING and also can be used for destruction!

The Powers That Be know this, and THAT is one of the main reasons you have been kept so isolated and so disconnected from those from the Realm that you love. If your "soul mates" from the Realm came into your life, and you started practicing Creation and Re-Creation through Tantra.....this world would be a different movie! We would change the social structure, extinguish the tyrants, and bring balance, peace and life force back to the earth and let Justice and Karma reign once more. Then we would head off to the cosmic Bahamas for some R&R before going back to the Realm for our next assignment.

(If all this Tantra stuff is foreign to you, I would suggest picking up the book "The Complete Idiots Guide to Tantric Sex" by Dr. Judy Kuriansky, which is on the required reading list for "The Knights of Mistyc House" training.)

So, my suggestion is to hang in there, see this problem for what it REALLY is, do some of your own meditation and research, connect with other FW-Indigos, and don't let the energies consume you...no matter who, what or where they are coming from! I have found for me that connecting to my guides and guardians from the Realm has been extremely beneficial and many times I have even felt their arms around me...just holding me.....and sometimes I cry. This has been a very profound experience indeed, and it has helped me through some of these tremendously lonely times.

Also, (and this is extremely important)...use this "solitude time" to get "cleaned-up and cleared-up" as much as you can if you have been "messed-up"...(hahahaha and what FW-Indigo hasn't?!) You want to be at your best physically, emotionally, spiritually and psychically for when one of your "beloveds" comes into your life. Get as many of your implants cleared out as you can and make sure that you are not going to be a "donor" of Kundalini Dumping! (Not a good way to start a companionship/partnership!)

Understand that we are also very much aware of the different agendas that are in motion on a cosmic scale right now and why FW-Indigos are so intertwined in it all. We are also aware of why the energies are intensifying and why Indigos are being targeted..... and are working 24-7 to find all the sources and get it handled. If any of you have some psychic hits on things that we might need to look at .....we are always welcoming your input. We also welcome any assistance you can render.

May we all find the Love and Cosmic Romantic Relationships we so richly deserve, and may we shake the cosmos with passionate orgone energy that will permanently change this reality, and bring Honor, Truth, Love, Passion, and Prosperity to us all.

Indigo Children: Basic Information for Parents of Indigo and Crystal Children

When interacting with and caring for your Indigo/Crystal child you need to remember that your child is very different to you. What worked for you as a child will not work for them. (if you're not an Indigo or are still getting back in touch with your Indigo-ness)

The main areas where you will need to adjust are the following:

* The Indigo/Crystal child is a Right Brain oriented being.
* The Indigo/Crystal is Super Sensitive to environmental stress.
* The Indigo/Crystal child is sensitive to food and will often develop Food Allergies.

What does this mean for you?

1. RIGHT BRAIN ORIENTATION

Indigo and Crystal children operate primarily from the Right brain. This means they are creative, intuitive, imaginative and emotionally intelligent. However, our culture is primarily left brain oriented, which means it is linear, rational and logical.

Difficulties arise when the child enters the school system and needs to adapt its way of functioning. A right-brainer learns very quickly and often makes intuitive leaps that demonstrate astonishing intelligence. But the school system is geared for left-brain functioning which is repetitive, routine, organized and linear/cumulative. This "slower" approach means that the child becomes bored very quickly- and loses interest. It generally then seeks other ways to stimulate its interest. This leads to many Indigo Children being labelled as ADD and ADHD, and often given Ritalin, when in fact there is nothing wrong with them other than boredom.

Also, because of their intuitive intelligence, they can often "busk" their way through several years of the school system before it is ascertained that they cannot read or write "correctly". This leads to the child being labelled "dyslexic", another stigma.

This is damaging because your Indigo Child has a strong sense of being "perfect", and is here on a "mission". If it is told that is is dysfunctional or that "there is something wrong with me", it will become traumatised and seek to either heal or disguise this wound. This can lead, in the adolescent years, to drug abuse and eating disorders as ways of healing or hiding the trauma.

It is vitally important that the Indigo or Crystal Child be recognised as different but not dysfunctional. If the difference is honored and managed, the child will grow up in a balanced way, but if not, it will lead to dysfunction and problems.

SENSITIVITY TO ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS

Your child is also far more sentitive than you were or are. Its hearing, vision, and senses are far more acute than yours. This is part of the evolutionary shift, as humans become more open and sensitive.

What this means is that your child will be stressed and distressed by loud noises, crowds of people, blaring music and television sets. Its response will either be to become withdrawn and depressed, or to allow the stimulus and become hyperactive and destructive.

The Indigo/Crystal child therefore needs a quiet and tranquil home environment with a minumum of electronic toys and gadgets, and certainly not television sets as the babysitter. There is an almost direct correlation between the amount and type of TV that is absorbed and the behaviour of the child.

Environmental stress also includes the relationship of the parents. If there is either overt or unstated aggression in the home the child will pick it up and will develop either dysfunction or defense mechanisms. You can hide nothing from the Indigo/Crystal child, it "reads" your field of energy and understands exactly what you think and feel even if it remains unstated.

FOOD ALLERGIES

The Physical body of the Indigo/Crystal child is also very sensitive. They often cannot tolerate processed food and food additives. They also respond badly to sugar and caffeine.

This means that sweets, artificially coloured drinks, biscuits, pies, hamburgers and choclates will create dysfunctional and hyperactive behaviour in the child. Feeding and Indigo or Crystal Child a chocolate and a coca-cola is literally the equivalent of giving the child a drug. Its system will respond by becoming overactive - producing hyperactive behaviour followed by a "crash" or tantrum when the effecst wear off and the child comes "down" and suffers sugar and caffeine withdrawal symptoms.

This can also mean that a "normal" diet will not be tolerated by many Indigos. Chicken and meat are filled with hormones, anti-biotics and chemicals, and most tinned or processed foods that are bought in supermarkets also contain chemicals that may not be tolerated. In addition, the child may be wheat and diary intolerant, producing symptoms such as eczema, digestive problems and sinus and ear/nose and throat disorders.

Guidelines for Dealing with these Problems

EDUCATION

Your Indigo/crystal child will respond well to an education system that balances right and left brain and that includes creativity in the form of music, art, dance and drama.

The best system for an Indigo/Crystal child is probably the Waldorf system which initially maximizes the right brain element while developing the left as a support. It also focuses on "grounding" the child into the body, since many Indigo children deal with their trauma by becoming "spaced out" or escaping from their bodies.

If you have your child tested for ADD or ADHD, be wary of putting the child on Ritalin, which is a drug (with side effects and withdrawal symptoms), which is designed to help parents and teachers to cope rather than assist the child. There are homeopathic and dietary alternatives that are less harmful and more effective.

ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS

In the early years, minimize noise and stress. This means minimize television, electronic games and "violent" activities.

Encourage play, imagination, reading and books, colouring in, and stories.

Create a calm and tranquil environment, as far as is possible.

FOOD

This is the most difficult to monitor, as convenience shopping and peer pressure means that the child will be exposed to the "glamour" of junk food.

Try to focus on natural, organic and healthy alternatives.

If the child suffers from mood swings or allergies you may need to identify the food problem and create a more balanced nutritional plan.

The Way of the Indigo Warrior
Excerpt from http://starchildascension.org/s/indigo.html:

The Way of the Indigo Warrior
by Celia Fenn

"Indigo Children" is the name given to a very special group of beings who have chosen to incarnate on our planet with a specific mission and purpose.

The name "indigo Child" refers to the soul color of Indigo, which indicates a Master Soul who serves as a teacher or healer. Every Indigo Child will undertake this mission of teaching or healing in some way, often merely by being who he or she is.

Indigos have been coming to our planet for a long time. Some argue that Jesus and Buddha were Indigos, since their mission, on a global scale, was to teach and heal, and to shift the consciousness of humanity.

In the recent past, Indigos began to incarnate on the planet in increasing numbers after World War II, in preparation for the global shift that we are now experiencing. They incarnated among the "baby boom" generation of the fifties and were born to the "flower children" of the sixties. However, at this stage there was not a sufficient number of them on the planet to create significant changes.

Then, in the 1970s, the first generational "wave" of Indigo Children arrived. These beings are now in their late twenties and early thirties, and are the real "warrior" generation who have begun the process of challenging and shifting old systems.

They were followed in the eighties and nineties by Indigos of increasing sensitivity and refinement, until the late 1990s and early 2000s when they were joined by the Crystal Children, a different kind of spiritual warrior.

How to Recognize an Indigo

I am often asked in the course of my work how to recognize an Indigo. The obvious answer would be to check the aura color. But no, not all Indigos have dark blue auras all the time. The term "Indigo" refers to a soul state and not to an aura color, which in the average human changes from day to day depending on mood and interest. Clairvoyants who read soul states may be able to identify Indigos.

However, it is easy to identify an Indigo by their sensitivity, creativity, spirituality and general behavioral patterns.

As children, they look much like other children, although they are often physically beautiful with penetrating eyes. They are always highly intelligent and full of questions and demands. They are energetic and active and have strong wills and a strong sense of their own value and importance. They know that they are special and that they are here to do something significant.

They are right-brain oriented, and are generally attracted to right-brain pursuits such as music, art, writing and spirituality. They love crystals and reiki and meditation and yoga.

They are very passionate and intensely loyal to their friends, of whom they often have many. They believe in honesty and communication in relationships. They are often baffled by dishonesty and manipulation and other forms of selfish behavior deemed normal by their elders.

Their attitude towards money is either to reject it as unecessary or to be very aware of its power and to seek, often successfully, to create affluence for themselves.

A key feature of Indigos is often anger. They will not be ordered around by so-called "authority figures". On a deep level, Indigos do not recognize "authority". They know we are all equal, and so they are enraged by those who assume authority and behave dictatorially, whether they are parents, teachers or bosses.

This is where they are important as teachers - they are teaching us to own our own power and to respect ourselves, by not giving away our power to those who demand it. They are teaching us further to value our creative and spiritual selves and not to place so much value on material success.

The Indigo Child

The Indigo as child is active, energetic and imaginative. They can entertain themselves and play in their own worlds for hours. They often have imaginary friends, and they love fairies and dolphins.

The boys often have more of a tendency towards hyperactive and disruptive behavior. This is probably culturally determined by our society's need to express male dominance, which is picked up by them at an early stage.

The exceptional intelligence of Indigos can be exasperating to adults. They will not be "told what to do", but will want to debate and negotiate every instruction. Until the parent learns that they are being taught to respect the child's right to choice, and honor that choice, they will continue to be confronted at every turn with power struggles and battles of will.

The correct way to handle an Indigo is to be willing to negotiate, explain, and offer choices. Bald instructions to "do as you are told" will only produce hostility or indifference.

Indigos often dislike school intensely. They are bored by the (to them) slow pace and repetitive tasks deemed suitable for children by teachers who do not understand their intelligence.

They battle with authority and peer pressure, which can be quite overwhelming to a young Indigo soul with little real understanding of the "power over others", dominance and submission states common to Earth society.

Problems experienced at school include ADD and ADHD, a result of boredom and irritation. Learning disabilities such as dyslexia often also reflect alternative ways of being and thinking used by Indigos.

The Indigo Adolescent

Like most adolescents, the Indigo will reach the state of puberty transition and become moody and inward as the body changes. However, at this stage, young Indigos often begin to see through the intense materialism and the victim dramas that form the basis of most adults lives in the modern world.

At this point they often "disconnect" from these lifestyles and opt for "alternatives" which they deem more meaningful or more fun or just plain challenging to adults.

Unfortunately, many of these include the drug culture and various trance parties that include chemically induced states of bliss that are short-lived and addictive.

At this point, the adolescent is expressing his or her anger and rejection of a system that offers nothing of value to the Indigo soul. Parents can take their children to Rehabilitation programs, but they really need to question why such intelligent and creative beings often seem to want to self-destruct.

Another form of self-destructive adolescent behavior occurs when the child takes on the values of the parents and seeks to overachieve. This can be frightening, as Indigos are by nature exceptionally gifted and talented. These Indigos often develop phenomenal academic and technical abilities to gain recognition and success, but sacrifice emotional development which can be hugely damaging in later life when they seek to create meaningful partnerships.

The Young Indigo Adult

In their twenties and early thirties, Indigos usually fall into one of two groups.

The first group follows a "yuppie" path and creates affluence, usually through a career in IT or the Arts. They seek stable relationships and to have children and create families. But they battle with the demands and norms of the systems of marriage, family and employment. Their Indigo souls strive to express their essence and remain true to who they are while still achieving "success" as dictated by our culture.

The second group opts to "drop out", and often the individuals travel extensively, becoming a "global citizen" and battling to settle in any one place. These people often have no fixed career or work, and live an alternative lifestyle that includes drugs. While they often claim to be happy, they are also frustrated by their inability to be able economically to pursue the "normal" activities of creating a family and contributing to a community.

Both groups are attempting to redefine what it means to be an adult in the contemporary world, and to find ways of living their truth while still finding happiness and stability as adults. They are the generation that is defining new choices and new options for adult life on the New Earth.
Systems Busting : Indigos and the Education System

The area of community life where Indigos have had the most effect is the education system. As mentioned earlier, Indigos are mostly right-brainers who are energetic and active. They dislike sitting still for long periods, being told what to do and being bored by repetitive tasks that fail to challenge them. Since this generally defines the school experience, it is obvious that Indigos will have problems and will cause problems.

The right-brain orientation means many indigos struggle to maintain interest and focus in a school curriculum designed for left-brain activity. Their need to express their energy in movement and to relieve their boredom means they are restless and can be disruptive. When they begin to fall behind their peers, they can become stressed and anxious.

The usual diagnoses given to Indigos are ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and ADHD(attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), which are regarded as "minimal brain dysfunction" disorders by medicine. The parent needs to choose between defining their child with a pathological label, or accepting that the child represents the next step in human evolution, and neither needs nor wants to spend 6 or 7 hours a day sitting behind a desk being told what to think.

Lets face it -- the school system is dated and dysfunctional. Schools were originally designed to educate the children of the upper classes, who had the wealth and time to devote to mental pursuits as a sign of their superiority. Gradually, in the 19th and early 20th century, education became universal.

But what does the school system really do? Most Indigos agree that what is taught in school is rarely relevant to real life. It confines them to mental or "head" experience, and most Indigos want real life experience to be their teacher.

In addition, sitting behind a school desk for 6 hours a day is seen as no more than training to sit behind and office desk for 8 hours a day or more, and most Indigos have no interest in that life path.

Modern school classes in South Africa usually consist of 30 or so children and one teacher. The system functions because the children agree to be controlled by the teacher. However, as more and more Indigos say no, the system begins to falter.

Perhaps indigos are teaching us that there are better ways to learn. Perhaps, beyond a few hours a day of basic literacy and numeracy, the child of the future will choose projects to be pursued in the community under supervision of parents or teachers. These could be "real life" oriented, and be of benefit to both the learner and the community.

Meanwhile, more and more Indigos are saying no to formal school education.

Indigo Stories

These are real life experiences drawn from my work with Indigos.

I met Alison when she was 15 and had just dropped out of school. She was attractive, intelligent and sensitive. She came from an affluent family, her father being a respected medical practitioner.

Alison absolutely refused to go to school, and had become involved with drugs. Her parents, not knowing how to cope, were forced to allow her to leave school and to deal with her drug problem and her rebellion. She was placed in a drug rehab program.

She wanted to study Reiki and Healing with crystals, but was really too immature to be a healer.

Eventually she became a model, and was able to get work in London and Tokyo. She earned large sums of money and was able to travel the world. Being attractive, she had no shortage of male companions in her life.

How does one tell an Indigo like Alison that she needed to go the school? She plainly did not. She was able to live a life beyond what most people aspire to without spending years at school and university. This is typical of Indigos : they work out the system and then use it to their advantage rather than being controlled by it.

Peter, on the other hand, went into a deep depression in his final year of school. he dropped out, not because of work pressure, but because he was able to see the futility and the illusion of the school system. His father was opposed, but his mother with whom he lived, was willing to allow his journey.

After several months of dealing with his depression, Peter decided not to return to school, but to pursue a technical diploma for which he did not need a school certificate.

This option gave him the time to research his other interests in life, alternative healing and healthier lifestyles.

A more tragic story is that of Jamila, a young Asian South African girl who also dropped out in her final year of school. In Jamila's case, her parents were academic high achievers, and Jamila in fact did buckle under the pressure to perform as well as the suppressed anger at her parents "absence" from her life while pursuing their careers.

She is immensely gifted, sensitive, and loving, as well as beautiful. But she developed an eating disorder as a signal that all was not right in her world.

Unfortunately, her parents adopted the "child as problem" approach, and sought to find someone to "cure" her. They were unable to understand that their own behavior and the system in which they thrived was inimical to their Indigo daughter and her gentle and sensitive approach to life

Then, on the lighter side, is the story of 4 year old Kim, who informed her mother that she was not going to go to school. She intended to be a mother when she grew up, and for that, she told Mom, she didn't need to go to school. Mother tended not to agree, and Kim was enrolled at the local Waldorf School. The Waldorf and Montessori systems of education see to be the best available to Indigos at the moment. Many Indigo parents are also going for the home schooling option, which allows for more flexibility of approach while still ensuring that the child gets the necessary education.

Systems Busting : Indigos and the Medical System

Another area where Indigos are making their presence felt is with the medical system. This is as a result of the medical diagnoses of ADD and Hyperactivity, or "minimal brain dysfunction". Medical science's answer is a drug - usually Ritalin, sometimes Prozac.

I have seen a child as young as seven on a medically prescribed anti-depressant. I have heard a respected paediatrician recommend that children as young as three be put on Ritalin.

There is much debate about the pros and cons of Ritalin, and I am not going to go into that here. Suffice to say that Ritalin is a drug of the amphetamine stimulant class. It has side effects and withdrawal symptoms, and is also addictive if misused.

The significance of this debate in terms of Indigos, is that many people are now questioning a medical system that drugs small children with stimulant drugs that alter brain chemistry as a way of coping with behavior that doesn't conform to the "norm" of the "average child".

In my work with children I have encountered children that range from gifted and "brilliant" to those who are autistic and learning disabled. In this journey, I have come to believe that there is no such thing as the "average child". Each child is like a snowflake - unique and individual, with its own needs and desires.

Yet the education system is geared to the "average child", and if a child does not conform to this model they are drugged into conformity. Dr Peter Breggin, an American psychiatrist who is anti the use of Ritalin, points out that what is defined as ADD or ADHD is just the manifestation of a child that functions at "one end of the energy spectrum" - the high end!

People who work with Indigos prefer to call these children "kinesthetic learners", and to suggest that they need modes of learning suited to their energy levels, rather than Ritalin.

Diet has also been shown to have a major effect on children. The stimulants in caffeine, refined sugars and food additives, all have a negative effect on children who are already high in energy. Eliminating these foods and concentrating on fresh and organic foods has been known to help to balance over-stimulated Indigos. Many Indigos, in fact, prefer this kind of diet if they are allowed access to it. But, busy parents often aggravate the problems by feeding their children processed and convenience foods which upset their sensitive systems.

Indigos are teaching us once again of the importance of holistic living, natural therapies and healing, and natural, unprocessed food. They are also challenging a medical system that sees pharmaceutical drugs as "magic bullets", regardless of the consequences and side-effects.

The Unhappy Indigo

If Indigos are given the opportunity to express who they are, if they are honored and respected, they can become highly sensitive, loving and gifted people. If not, they tend to become self-destructive and dysfunctional.

The high incidence of drug abuse, eating disorders and dysfunctional behavior among Indigos is an indicator that the way we live is dysfunctional.

Please, Never Tell them they're Not Good Enough.....

Indigos are born with a strong sense of "mission". They are the spiritual warriors of the Indigo Ray. They know they have something really special to do on this planet.

Yet, from the moment they arrive, they are bombarded with negative messages that affect their self-worth. From the time they begin to walk, there is a constant "don't do this/don't do that", to messages that say "you are stupid". I have seen a four year old who informed me that she was, unfortunately, stupid. How damaging this is, especially to an Indigo.

If an Indigo is made to feel worthless and not good enough, they tend to feel that they are failures. They have failed at their mission, and this makes them depressed, angry, neurotic and self destructive.

So please, if you parent or care for an Indigo, make sure you are affirming of their value and worth. Respect them for who they are, no matter how different they are to you. Children are not meant to be clones of their parents, or to carry the aspirations of the parent. Allow them to be who they are, and they will flourish and thrive.
Indigo Stories

I have worked with many Indigos, to help them to balance their lives and be successful.

Nine year old Sonya came to me with intense eczema all over her body. She was sleeping badly and was anxious and depressed. I referred her to a homeopath for treatment for the eczema. The homeopath used homeopathic and naturopathic treatments together with diet. When I worked with Sonya I used Energy Balancing, crystals and visualization techniques to help her. After several months, her mother reported that the eczema was nearly completely cleared, and that she was happy and enjoying her life.

Twenty-four year old Lara came to me in a deeply depressed state. She was unemployed, despite being a qualified artist. She wept her way through our initial sessions. I worked with her intensively over a period of a bout 18 months, seeing her once a month. We used Emotional Clearing and Regression techniques, together with Energy Balancing and Crystal therapy.

Lara found a job that suited her talents, and eventually moved on to one that included traveling. She was thrilled at the shifts and changes in her life as a result of the spiritual work. In addition, her social life improved and she left her mother's home and began sharing a house with a friend.

Just your standard Wordpress theme to share Life on a Diet. I know, I hate these sites as well. You know the ones where the author bores you with how many kilograms they lost of gained in the past 12 hours. Boring. This is a simple and hopefully honest account of a fellow and his quest to place his life on a diet. It's 11:28 p.m. and I am going to bed hungry. Why....there are plenty of Christmas cookies in the jar. I am still going to bed without a snack. Goodnight

Diet for ADHD / Indigos

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2007 — Posted in Diet

Several Indigos have ADHD tendencies and for many diet will help assist in the calming of those tendencies....

Here is a list of things to keep in mind in your (or your child's) ADHD diet:

WHAT TO EAT TO FEED THE ADHD BRAIN:

1) FOR BREAKFAST SERVE HIGH PROTEIN, LOW CARBOHYDRATE MEALS. Say, “Good-bye,” to Breakfast cereals and milk. Serve 60% Protein and 40% Carbohydrates for Breakfast. Other meals should be 50% / 50%.

2) PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTS might be needed to get the added protein for Breakfast. They are often very helpful in the afternoon as well. Here is our favorite recipe for a Protein Shake:

a) Make a cup of coffee, using one of General Mills' International Coffees, or something like that, with a flavor that you or your child will like (yes, I know I'm breaking my own rules here, as these coffees have dried milk and some sugar, but I'm trying to get your kid to actually drink the thing, and also get some caffeine mixed with the protein.). Pour the hot coffee into a blender with about 6 oz of ice. Turn on the blender for a bit.

b) Add a good quality protein powder. There are many good ones available. If you can't find one that you like, ask at your local health food store. Get protein powders that are mostly protein and very little carbohydrate. Add between 15 and 20 grams of protein to the cold coffee in the blender.

c) Turn on the blender again.

d) Drink it up.

This protein shake is helpful for a lot of people. For many small kids, and many adults, this recipe works about as well as a small dose of Ritalin (100 mg of caffeine is roughly the same as 5 mg of Ritalin). So many who might just take a small dose of Ritalin might get away with just doing this.

Don't forget, though, that even caffeine can have some side effects. Every once in a while we find someone that has problems with the caffeine in the coffee. Usually, though, the caffeine in the coffee helps the person to focus better. The protein helps to feed the brain. If you find this helpful, have one with Breakfast, and one around 3 pm. If it is not helpful, then don't bother with it.

3) MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS may be helpful. Colloidal Minerals or fully chelated minerals are the best. We like the MinPac from VAXA, but there are several good choices. Don't buy minerals in the grocery store. Get good minerals.

--Several studies show that ADHD children are deficient in many common minerals, most often in magnesium, zinc, and iron, and that magnesium supplementation significantly decreases the hyperactivity symptoms in these children

--Consumption of soft drinks (pop or soda) decreases the body's absorption of magnesium

4) FLAX SEED or PRIMROSE OIL. High sources of Omega oils. Borage oils and some fish oils are good as well. Very important. Mix about a spoonful a day into foods as you prepare them, or add to salad dressings, etc.

5) EAT LOTS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. Avoid Aluminum exposure. Eat in a healthy manner.

6) NO DAIRY PRODUCTS, especially cow's milk.

This is the single most important restriction. The American Pediatric Association estimates that 30% of all children are allergic to milk. Instead try Almond milk, Rice milk, or Better Than Milk. Drink water instead of milk.

7) NO YELLOW FOODS. Especially Corn or Squash. Bananas are white. Don't eat the peel

8) NO JUNK FOODS. If it comes in a cellophane wrapper, don't eat it

9) CUT SUGAR INTAKE BY 90%. If you can, cut it down to zero. Sugar is in just about everything, but give it a try. Do your best without going crazy.

10) NO NUTRASWEET. None. Period. Never. It's bad for you

11) NO PROCESSED MEATS and NO MSG. Only get meats with labels that say, “Turkey and Water,” etc. If the meat has chemicals listed that you can't pronounce, don't buy it.

new year = new lifestyle.

or so they say. hopefully for my own sake, things will change. namely my weight, and honestly - by proxy - my whole life should  change. If I really stick to a diet, then I will lose weight. my body will shrink, width-wise. my confidence will increase. I’ll get some real friends. it will be easier to get a job. I’ll show everybody. if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em: skinny people get through life a lot easier than those who are even a bit chunky. even people who are FUG get by if they are a size 0 versus people who are pretty but aren’t actually considered to be pretty because chub is the furthest thing away from pretty in today’s world.

this blog will detail my FOOD diary! everything I eat in 2008 will be documented. either electronically via wordpress or on paper - TO BE posted on wordpress post haste. I want to be disgusted by bad foods and toxins that I don’t usually think about.so I will guestimate my weight to be 160 lbs. my ideal weight is 110 lbs. but 120 is okay too. even 130. but if I’m going to get some balls, 110 it is. I’m aiming high for my crunchy friends.

I’m going to upload stuff to keep it interesting as well (PS how do I do this...). oh and talk about what I’m reading at the moment: David Mitchell’s Ghostwritten. and write down what I’m listening to at the moment: Joy Division “No Love Lost”

pepperoni

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2007 — Posted in Diet

Pizza is a weakness for me and something that can pack a high cholesterol punch.   Sure you can make it "lighter" or better for you, but when I think pizza I really think pepperoni and cheese.   So, I tried Hormel's version of Turkey Pepperoni vs. their normal pepperoni to see if I could eat a little healthier without sacrificing flavor.

Looking at the nutrition facts I was happy to find that the turkey version of this popular dried meat has 70% less fat than the regular kind.   Guess what else.....I can't taste the difference.    I took a slice of both, plain, without anything else to distract me and ate them one at a time....to me there was no difference.  So imagine when you throw in the sauce, a little cheese, etc.  you won't miss the fat.    This is the best find yet.

Raw Food LifeStyle change!

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2007 — Posted in Diet

Since I have a boyfriend that is a raw chef, I have been wanting to go raw for a long time now. It is a great way to detox your body, clear your skin, give you more energy and above all lose weight. I go through a time every year where I feel the need to detox. For the past two years I have done the juicing method of detoxing. It was always interesting way to detox. You always got to see how the world was, basically all about food. I guess when you go 5 days without it (nothing but juice and soups) you really notice how much food is pushed at you on a daily basis, which is truly unhealthy in our american culture. Anyways I am having fun looking over everything and I can't wait to plan out my meals. It is a ton of prep work when you go raw. I will be spending my weekends planning out my weekly meals. Oh and here is a link to a raw blog...We Like it Raw

Resensi Buku : Fat Loss, Not Weight Loss

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2007 — Posted in Diet

Judul Buku : Fat-loss Not Weight-loss, Gemuk tapi ramping
Penulis : dr Phaidon L Toruan MM
Halaman : xiv + 278 halaman
Penerbit : Trans Media, Cetakan ketiga 2007

Selamat membaca.
