I am going to put two days in one post. Yesterday, I took my pills in the morning around 8:45 A.M. My youngest son and I did some exercising at about 9:00. I felt pretty good. I have noticed that when I exercise I feel like I am actually doing something good for myself. Who would of thought that could happen? :P I know that if I actually start eating healthier I would would feel and look 100 times better than I do. I have started the exercising, but I am still slow on starting the healthy eating. It just doesn't sound exciting.
Anyway, I had a cheeseburger at about 2:30 P.M. I was very full. I try to eat when I am feeling just a little hungry, so when I do eat something small, I feel like I am overly stuffed. It's been working for me so far. I don't want to eat for a loooong time after. I thought about taking the diet pills around 3:45, but I was feeling extremely stuffed so I didn't. It wasn't feeling good at all. I wasn't really sure what was going on.
At about 5:45 P.M. I was thinking about taking my Hoodia Prime pills, but I was just not feeling good at all. I finally realized what it was. I have been taking the laxatives and not using the bathroom. I was cramping like crazy because of that. I didn't feel like I had to use the bathroom, but I was in pain. About 6:30 P.M.I finally had to "GO" and OMG!! My tummy felt so much better. Ofcourse about 45 minutes later I had to go again. That felt good too. :)
So needless to say, I didn't eat anything else and I didn't take anymore laxatives in fear of the cramps coming back. I'm not really sure that I like the laxatives trial week. I think I might save some money and try the colon cleanser thing next time. I have never tried that but we will see. :) I feel good again. Thank goodness. :)

Along with three friends, I am embarking on the Master Cleanse. While this doesn't necessarily have to do with life in Austin, I don't think I'd ever make this decision if I weren't here. When I moved back home to Austin after I graduated college, within a year I was almost vegetarian (eating only free-range meat and chicken), shopping at Wheatsville, feeding my dog all-natural dog food, doing a different cleanse (one that allowed only fruits and veggies, and provided a bunch of supplements to take), seeing an acupuncturist as my primary care physician, and practicing yoga. I grew up in Austin and was never this much of a hippie. What had the city done to me?!
So when a friend asked if I'd like to take on the Master Cleanse, a 10-day cleanse of the system where you drink a lemonade concoction, perform a saltwater flush, and drink laxative tea, I was totally in. And I blame that on Austin.
I'm thrilled about it, truthfully. For me, I think it will have as many psychological benefits as it does physical/health benefits. Learning to forgo cravings and alleviate a dependence on food will certainly be interesting, as will seeing the impact not eating has on my social life. Geez, what will I even blog about?!
I'll keep you posted on my experience (overall, not in detail, plenty of those graphic blogs are available on the web), and if you're curious, here are a few good resources
This website is contains a lot of helpful information. The guy who made it is trying to sell his book, so you should be aware of that while reading this site. But his info on the 5 symptoms of detox, the FAQ, and the most common mistakes are pretty helpful. I also found it helpful to look through the message boards to know what to expect... but also, be careful of that, because some people are just big babies.
This is a journal of one girl who did the cleanse. She experienced a lot of things similar to what I did, aside from her experience with the smooth moves tea. But I think her journal is a pretty good read. She also talks about feeling sick, which neither Michael or I experienced. My thought on this: She did not do the salt water flushes everyday. According to the book, the lemonade drink encourages your body to release toxins, and the salt water flush helps to get those toxins out. So if that is true, she was essentially releasing toxins, but not getting them out...which I think could explain her symptoms.
If you are interested in more journals, there are a lot of video journals on youtube which I remember watching last year.
